Horse clubs, Associations and Arena’s in the Southern Colorado Area

Pueblo West Horseman’s Association – is open to all persons or families with an interest in horses.  The group has a wide variety of events throughout the year, along with monthly meetings with speakers and planned rides.  The mission of the PWHA is to keep Pueblo West an active equine community.  For more information contact 719-547-2299 or visit their Facebook Page

Southern Colorado Horseman’s Association – The mission of the Southern Colorado Horseman’s Association is to promote and develop good fellowship among horse lovers, to educate & provide instruction to youth and amateur horse owners in the art of horsemanship & riding events as well as encourage, promote and develop the responsible ownership, training and breeding of horses. Walk-A-Mile Arena – located in Avondale, the arena has planned events, shows and open arena times.  Contact the arena at 719-947-3248 for more information.

West Pueblo Saddle Club – rides on Thursday nights at Walk-A-Mile Arena starting at 7:00pm. Featuring show events and speed events.

RCC Saddle Club – serving Rye and Colorado City, meetings are help monthly and everyone is welcome. Gymkhanas are held in the summer for members at the club’s arena in Colorado City, along with trail rides. For more information contact Tom or Marilyn Olson at 719-676-4165

Beulah Valley Horseman’s Association – meetings are held monthly and summer rides are planned.  The group helps keep the trails and parks open to equestrian riders.  For more information contact Deanna at 719-543-6840

Back Country Horsemen of Colorado – a service organization working on public lands and education to ensure that public lands, wilderness areas and America’s back country remains open for horse and riders.

Boarding Facilities –

Liberty Landing Stables is one of the original facilities in Pueblo West. The stable was built to board horses and offer trail rides to people visiting the area.  Today, the facility offers boarding, lessons, hosts regular events, has several riding arenas and access to public trails that are all over Pueblo West.  Their Facebook Page is updated regularly

Hillside Equestrian Center – located in Pueblo, on the Mesa, the center offers boarding and training.

Fountain Valley Stables is located on Overton Road, along the Fountain River in Pueblo.  Easy access from the northside of Pueblo.  Contact them at 719-545-8350

Belmont Stables is located on the eastern side of Pueblo.  Close to town and conveniently located. Their phone number is 719-778-7510
